After vying for online votes for almost two weeks, Whitney Johnson came out on top.  Johnson received the most votes and filled the 10th finalist spot in the search to find Dayton’s next CW Star.

Whitney invited people over to watch the announcement that took place during during Hart of Dixie.  “Whether the news was good or bad.. I would be in need of a hug,” Whitney said.

When I asked Whitney what her reaction was after finding out she had been chosen to partake in this journey she said, “My reaction was Oh..My … GOODNESS! Then we all screamed and started to laugh and scream a little more, I immediately had to call my mom!”

Congrats and good luck to Whitney and the rest of the CW crew, because the competition has just started!

Throughout their journey the finalists are going to be put to the test.  This week the top tenners are participating in street team efforts by going into local businesses and rewarding the employees for their hard work with CW goodies.

Friday marks makeover day.   The contestants are getting transformations to make them TV ready.  The best part of all, they have no idea what is getting done to them! Oh the anticipation!

In the upcoming weeks the contestants will be campaigning throughout the Miami Valley.  They will be at Edison Community College, Shamrock at the Boonshoft Museum and visiting local radio stations.

And that’s just the beginning of it! The contestants are going to have an in-studio day, blogging tasks and even more “fun homework.”  I was sworn to secrecy not to give any further details…unless the contestants are willing to pay me for my knowledge. Just Kidding!  Lets just say they have a fun couple of weeks to look forward to.
