Summer Fun Continues: August Events!
The last month of summertime has arrived so get out there and have some fun!
I have included 5 events to get you started.
August 10th-12th- Carillion Historical Park- Germanfest Picnic
This is an ALL AGES event that is FREE to the public. It’s only $2 to park on-site and there is so much to do.
“The 29th Annual Germanfest Picnic features a 5K Run/Walk (register at www.active.com) on Friday evening, German Fashion Show, Polka Mass, Historical Exhibit – “Dayton’s German Breweries”, KidZone, Genealogy Corner, Biergarten and the largest selection of Biers this side of Munich. A wide variety of Craft Vendors and German Imports as well as continuous live German Music and that fantastic homemade Liederkranz food add to the celebration!”
August 11th- Yellow Springs- Art on the Lawn
This is an all-day event starting at 10AM and will be an opportunity to feature both new and returning artists who have many unique specialties.
The featured artist for this year is jewelry designer Mary Kleismit. Mary is now in her 80s and has been creating elegant jewelry for the past forty years. There will be food, musicians, face painting, and more!

August 17th-19th- The Funny Bone- Rob Schneider
Come check out the comedian and actor Rob Schneider!
Schneider has starred in many Happy Madison projects, including Bedtime Stories, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, The Benchwarmers, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, Eight Crazy Nights, Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds.
August 19th-The Event Connections 4140 Linden Avenue- Ladies Day Out
It’s time to gather your girlfriends and head out to this great event!
There will be everything from Dove chocolate, Premier jewelry, and everything in between. There are door prizes and many local vendors who will be in attendance. This event is completely free too!

August 30th- The Greene Mall- Fuel Concert
The Greene rescheduled their FREE summer concert with Fuel! You won’t want to miss this national act rock out. Fuel has sold over 3.5 million albums in the U.S. alone. Some of their hits include “Shimmer,” “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage (In My Hands”).
The opening acts include HeyThere Morgan & Spungewurthy.
